SUMMARY:I was curious about where the name "Vix" came from since I only think of cough medicine when I hear it. Turns out that it's derived from the name "Vitoria", which is the hometown of Brazilian founder, Paula Hermann. Originally, this label made Brazilian-cut bikinis but wisely chose to target a broader section of swimsuit buyers which in part explains their prominence in swimwear fashion today.
It’s relatively rare that eBay has the most meager selection of a brand as well as the highest prices, but it happened here. There are a couple of power sellers that carries a small selection of Vix apparel but with no notable discounts. One of them is an actual liquidator so my thinking is that they feel a bit proud of the fact that their inventory is not “gently used”. Amazon has an even smaller selection of this brand but after the discount, they still cost quite a bit of money. One of the merchant’s listed on Bizrate/Shopzilla seems to be having deep, deep discounts for this brand so for the time that I’m writing this in March 2009, this is the recommendation.
