Need Sandy Starkman apparel at a discount? This is the guide for some of the best alternatives, anywhere online. I've decided to list some websites that seem to consistently have the lowest prices. Below are the websites that I recommend:
Mr. Starkman, born in Brooklyn, studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design and New York University. His clothing, accessories, and home furnishings are sold at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Boston Proper. There are showrooms for this brand in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Chicago. He has been influenced by South American and Indian cultures, and by his belief in human empowerment. Starkman's beautiful and exotic dresses, skirts, blouses and jackets are made from silk and cotton. Dresses feature flowing skirts and bright patterns, and blouses are decorated with lovely embroidery. A men’s wear line has recently been introduced with jackets and shirts featuring exotic designs.
FROM THE BLOGS:
Oh you have got read his blog! Finally, a designer gets that it's not just about the clothing, but also the story behind the apparel. The myth, if you will. If you are going to spend more money, of course you want the craftsmanship, but why be bored? This designer's blog, which is on the blog, is anything but boring. His bio is really, really extensive. He comes across, of course, as very creative, but also maybe some sort of New Age nut, but that does keep me interested in how that his expressed in the things that he creates. It definitely appears to be working for him. He might even be somewhat egotistical, because he refers to him in the third person in the blog, and he refers to himself a lot. Additionally, he seems to give himself credit for being always "a season ahead of the trend".
With that background, I was, of course, eager to view more this designer's apparel so that I could see how all of that confidence and creativity manifests itself in a finished product. It wasn't easy to find an example in some of the blogs, which turned out to be defunct. When I did find a blog, it did seem creative, but not quite original. It reminded me of paintings by Jean Michael-Basquiat. Huh?
